VAST is a FREE to view TV service, that requires a VAST Satellite receiver to access an encrypted MPEG4 Satellite Signal from the OPTUS C1 Satellite via a KU Band Satellite dish.
Comsat Technology install VAST Satellite systems to receive the full range of TV channels in full High Definition all over the Sunshine Coast . VAST is the last resort available if you require access to the Free-To-Air TV Services on the Sunshine Coast, and is only available if the terrestrial based Digital TV signal from one of the six local transmitters is not available. VAST usually has the same programming as the Digital Terrestrial TV, but has Northern Territory and central Queensland advertising.
There are a few black spot locations on the Sunshine Coast that cannot receive the Digital Terrestrial TV signal. These black spot locations can be very low valleys or areas that are surrounded by either a very thick tall forest, or a very steep hill covered with tall trees.
The introduction of the new Terrestrial Digital TV Transmitters at Point Arkwright and Peregian Beach now provide Digital TV to the major black spot areas along the central coastline of the Sunshine Coast including some parts of Buderim (Cumberland, Deloraine Drive, and Wises Road)and the noth face of Mt Coolum, Yaroomba, Point Arkwright, Coolum Beach, Peregian Beach,Marcus Beach, Sunrise Beach, and Sunshine Beach.
